Open Call for Papers

by

The Institute for Research in Economic and Fiscal Issues (IREF) invites the submission of research papers for its Working Paper Series.

The series aims to promote rigorous and policy-relevant research in economics, with a particular focus on:

  • fiscal policy and public finance
  • taxation

  • public debt and government spending

  • monetary policy and financial stability

  • regulation and institutional economics

  • international trade and economic policy

Submissions are welcome from researchers at all stages of their careers. Papers may be theoretical or empirical but should be clearly written and relevant to current economic policy debates.

Submission Process

Papers can be submitted at any time during the year. Submissions should consist of a complete manuscript in PDF format and be sent to: kisrael(at)uco.fr

All submissions will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee.

Publication and Honorarium

Papers accepted for publication in the IREF Working Paper Series will be published on the IREF website. Authors of accepted papers will receive an honorarium of up to €2,000. The honorarium is structured as follows:

  • €1,500 upon acceptance and publication of the paper in the IRE Working Paper Series

  • an additional €500 if the authors contribute to the dissemination of their work by preparing a short policy-oriented summary (e.g. a blog post) and participating in an interview (podcast or similar format) presenting the main results and their policy relevance to a broader audience.

This structure is intended to encourage not only high-quality research, but also the clear communication of results to a broader audience.

Additional Dissemination

To increase the visibility and impact of research, selected papers may also be:

  • summarized in short policy-oriented blog posts and other publications of IREF

  • featured in interviews or podcast discussions

  • highlighted through IREF’s communication channels
